While on my path to becoming a therapist, I made a few meaningful stops along the way. But my experiences in education, teaching in the classroom, writing, and life have all reminded me of the same thing—that sometimes, it only takes one person who truly sees and hears you to make all the difference.
I believe you already have the ability to make changes in your life. But sometimes, we need someone to walk alongside us as we do it.
In our work together, you can expect an inclusive and safe space to process your emotions and the situations you’re navigating. I’ll offer insights, help you unpack your experiences in a trauma-informed way, and, when needed, gently challenge you. It’s also a space where humor, laughter, and collaboration are always welcome!
Hi, I’m COLLEEN!
-
I work from a holistic and person-centered approach to therapy. This means that I am considering the interconnectedness of your mind, body, environment, upbringing, etc., and not just your symptoms. I view you as the expert in your life and am here to work with you to gain new perspectives, skills, and solutions to navigate the challenges life throws our way.
I utilize skills and foundations from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness in my work.

For the last five years I have worked in community mental health centers focused on substance use recovery, in group practices, and in high school settings.
Prior to becoming a social worker, I taught high school students, and worked within the Department of Education in NYC.
Outside of work I enjoy, traveling, being at the beach as much as possible, concerts, writing, reading, and walks with my golden retriever Birdie!
